The moratorium will be extended

In the Duma Committee on Security believe that a moratorium on the death penalty in Russia will be extended. This opinion expressed by RBC Vice Chairman of the Duma Committee on Security Gennady Gudkov. He recalled that the moratorium is valid, according to the decision of the Constitutional Court until such time as the entire territory of Russia will not work juries.

In 2010, the jury will begin its work in the latter region of Russia - Chechen Republic, but is convinced Gudkov, a moratorium would be extended, as Russia took the obligation in connection with its entry into the Council of Europe. He noted that almost everywhere in Europe abolished the death penalty. According to the deputy, the moratorium should be extended until such time as the "in people's minds are not made to believe that the permanent ban on this death penalty."
