In the Supreme Court of Karelia yesterday began to consider the case of six Caucasians, accused in the massacre at the restaurant “Chaika” in Kondopoga. Of their murders of two local residents led to riots and anti-Caucasian pogroms. Some of the defendants argued that the prison has perfectly mastered the language of the cons, but forgot how to speak in Russian. They demanded a translator, but the court decided that the defendants are trying to delay the judicial investigation.

The trial of high-profile case was scheduled to begin July 16, but the State Council Presidium meeting in Karelia, which was held July 17 in Petrozavodsk, and upset plans. Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev in the day visited Petrozavodsk city court, which is located in the same building with the Supreme Court of the Republic. The court decided to postpone the meeting due to security reasons.

After a while, it would seem that the conflict was already settled, the restaurant “Chaika” group arrived immigrants from Chechnya and Dagestan, which were brutally cracking down on visitors “Seagulls” and bystanders. Two kondopozhan Gregory Tears and Sergey Usin were killed and nine others were seriously injured. The murder of local people was too much kondopozhan, which, as it turned out later, have repeatedly appealed to government bodies in demanding an end to prevailing lawlessness in the city. The funeral of the dead and Slezova Usin resulted in an unauthorized rally, which grew in the anti-Caucasus pogroms.
